Licenses for the Performance of External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS)

The institution, as an accredited inspection body, grants licenses to construction companies applying thermal insulation contact systems when insulating buildings, authorizing them to perform related works. The institution issued the first licenses for works on building insulation back in 1992. Later, licenses were only issued to companies applying External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) for building insulation, a practice which continues to this day. By holding this license, the licensee demonstrates their capability to carry out specific construction works, the quality of which, along with certified components of the thermal insulation system, ensures the projected parameters and the longevity of the insulation.

The normative basis for granting licenses consists of existing technical specifications for thermal insulation contact systems, which are either European Technical Assessments (ETAs) issued according to the regulation EAD 040083-00-0404 (or EAD for other types of ETICS), or SK Technical Assessments (SK TP) and the associated technological procedures for system application.

Licenses are granted and possibly revoked in accordance with the internal directive of the accredited Inspection Body Type A Conditions for granting licenses for the installation of External Thermal Insulation Contact Systems (ETICS), issued after consultation with the Civic Association Association for Building Insulation (OZ ZPZ). Companies apply for the license issuance on the license application form or on the form for license validity extension. Completed constructions are reported by the company using the construction completion reporting form.

An updated list of license holders is available on this website. License holders who wish to publish detailed contact information about their company in addition to basic details can do so directly in the license application or through an order. The service is subject to fees according to the current price list TSÚS.

The Government of the Slovak Republic has adopted measures to motivate owners of family homes to renovate. The Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic announces calls for applications to provide grants for the insulation of family homes. Only companies with a granted license and who submit a report from an inspection on the implementation of the thermal insulation system issued by an accredited inspection body may insulate family homes. In this context, we aim to assist investors/builders in selecting a contractor by freely supplementing the overview of issued licenses with information on which of the license holders carry out the insulation of family homes. You can report the addition of this information (if not already provided) by completing and sending the attached form to the following address: usek.pz@tsus.sk.

Contractors who carry out construction works related to the installation of External Thermal Insulation Contact Systems (ETICS) and also the construction of balcony systems from the same manufacturer of these systems may apply for both types of licenses using a combined application form for license issuance or for license validity extension. Jointly executed constructions are reported by the company using the construction completion reporting form.

Warning: The license for the installation of External Thermal Insulation Contact Systems confirms that its holder has established technical, qualification, and organizational prerequisites to ensure the assumed quality of the performed works. The inspection activities of TSÚS at the licensee's construction sites do not replace the activities of construction supervision and other participants in the construction process.
