The institute carries out energy certification of buildings in accordance with Act No. 555/2005 Coll. on the Energy Performance of Buildings and Act No. 138/1992 Coll. on Authorized Architects and Authorized Civil Engineers. The energy certificate confirms the building's classification into energy classes A to G based on the calculation of the energy performance of the building carried out according to Decree No. 364/2012 Coll. of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. .. – more information in Information Leaflet No. 17.

The issue of energy performance of buildings is mainly addressed by the VVÚPS-NOVA department.
